OUR STORY

Our Story (Sunelle's Perspective)

University

It began one quiet morning, the kind of morning that feels ordinary— until it isn’t.

She stopped me outside the boys’ hostel, eyes unsure, voice gentle, asking where to go to fold flowers (indulging in the university spirit).

I was too nervous to explain, so I said, “Walk with me.”

And without knowing it, we took our very first steps toward forever.

The next day, in the swirl of new faces and stiff introductions, there she was again— walking straight toward me, like the universe had pressed play.

We were studying the same thing. We sat side by side in our first lecture, and from that moment on, we were simply us..

Laughter came easily, the kind that leaves your cheeks sore and your soul a little lighter. We moved in rhythm, like we’d done this all before— in another lifetime, maybe.

Every day, our friendship deepened. Built on joy, curiosity, a pull neither of us could name. Something rare had found us.

Long before we said the words, we were already in love.

And by the end of that first year, we stopped running from it. Love had been there all along— waiting, patient, certain.

Vaal Dam

The dam had always been a part of me— a place where the world felt quiet, where water knew how to hold secrets and wind spoke softly through the trees.

It was one of our first escapes. No crowds, no noise, just the two of us, a canoe, the open sky, and still water reflecting more than just light.

I wasn’t one to open up easily. But there, with her beside me, I started to.

We walked for hours, bare feet in the sand, laughing at nothing, drifting between silence and story.
She saw me—really saw me— not just the parts I chose to show, but the quiet corners I usually kept tucked away.

And in return, I saw her in a new light too— not just the girl who sat beside me in class, not just the new found friend, but someone who fit into every version of the life I dreamed of.

I think that’s when we began to understand what this could really be. Not just friendship, not just love— but something that felt like home.

Festivals

Somewhere along the way, we found our rhythm in the music.

In crowded fields and neon lights, in long road trips and dirt roads leading to nowhere but each other.

Festivals became our escape— our little universe, where time bent and the world softened.

It started when we were still just friends, but even then, we were already finding each other in every beat.

There were nights we danced barefoot under stars that felt too close, our laughter echoing louder than the music.

There were days we lost ourselves in the noise— tired, sun-drenched, happy.

From getting drunk on cheap drinks, to staying completely sober, from five-day adventures, to one-night escapes— we lived for all of it.

It wasn’t just about the music. It was about us. Hands brushing in the crowd, the quiet smiles mid-song, the way the world disappeared when she looked at me.

We even chased our favorite artists overseas— carrying backpacks, playlists, and wide-eyed wonder. Every trip stitched us closer, every note another thread.

In those moments, it was always her and me— and the music that had somehow always known.

Adventure

Our love has always been a love in motion. From the very beginning, we chased the thrill— not to run from anything, but to run toward life, together.

We jumped before we looked— off bridges and into lakes, heartbeats tangled mid-air. Bungee cords and freefalls, mountaintops and winding roads.

We hiked through mist-covered paths, followed sunrises to their edge, and laughed when we got lost— because being lost with her, never felt like being lost at all.

We rode bikes down unfamiliar roads, held hands underwater, ziplined through treetops like we were made to fly.

It wasn’t about the adrenaline, not really. It was the way she reached for my hand before the jump. The way I looked at her and felt safe—always.

Our adventures have never been about proving something. They’ve been about becoming— louder, freer, braver, together.

Alps

Two years in, we crossed oceans and climbed mountains— to the snowy peaks of the Swiss Alps, where the air was crisp and full of possibility.

We wandered through powder-soft snow, our breaths mingling in the cold, and skied down slopes that whispered freedom.

We rode cable cars above the world, silhouetted against a sky painted with early dusk.

In the town of Chamonix, we added our own lock to a bridge— a quiet promise, a seal of something sacred between us.

New Year’s Eve came cloaked in fireworks and frost, a storm of light and sound exploding around us, while we held each other close, warm in the cold.

Jacuzzi nights in the snow, sharing favourite drinks, and laughter spilling into the winter air— it was magic, a dream folded into reality.

That trip wasn’t just a holiday. It was the first page in a new chapter— one written in snowflakes and shared wonder, in the kind of love that feels infinite.

Travel

After that first journey, we caught the travel bug— a shared hunger to see the world, to chase sunsets in new places, to find pieces of ourselves in every corner.

From the endless skies of safari lands, to the gentle waves brushing seashores, from cobbled streets of Paris, to the vibrant life of London and Italy.

Each trip was a story, another thread in the tapestry of us.
We found joy in the unfamiliar, comfort in the chaos of airports and train rides, and laughter in languages we didn’t always understand.

Every journey wasn’t just about the places we saw, but the way we held each other while discovering them.

The world became our playground, our canvas, a place where love grew deeper with every mile travelled together.

Disney Paris

Disney Paris was her dream, and soon mine too— a world where stories come alive, where magic feels possible, and every corner holds a secret smile.

We walked until our feet were sore, riding every ride, laughing until our sides ached, sharing moments only we could understand.

On the third day, I took her back to the one place she loved most— the Pirates of the Caribbean attraction, deep into the caves, a place filled with childhood memories and whispered wishes.

There, amidst the soft murmur of the sea, I knelt down on one knee and asked her to spend forever with me.

She said yes, and then pulled out a ring for me too— our promises exchanged in quiet joy.

That night, engaged and glowing, we watched the castle light up the sky, a thousand fireworks dancing in celebration, and in that moment, we knew we had said yes to forever— in the most magical place on earth.

Doggies and Animals

From the very start, we shared a quiet love for creatures—
the soft nudge of a dog’s nose, the gentle purr of a cat curled in our laps.

We knew early on that children wouldn’t be part of our story, but we created a family all the same.

Three fur babies, with wagging tails and endless love, filled our home and hearts.

They are our joy on hard days, our laughter in quiet moments, the steady rhythm that makes our life whole.

Our family is built on love— not always the kind written in books, but the kind you feel in every shared glance, every warm cuddle, every heartbeat at home.

Here’s to the road ahead— to adventures still waiting, places we’ve yet to discover, and memories we haven’t made yet.

To a love that keeps growing, a bond that keeps deepening, and a life we’ll keep building, hand in hand.
Here’s to forever, and all the magic still to come.
